Burning smell through vents

Hi is there any mechanics out there who could give me advice.I have a 2.0cdti insignia 2009 I was driving about 10 miles with air con on low and all of a sudden I could could smell burning through the vents and very slightly see it coming out of the front vent at bottom of window on the outside .engine was very hot I have drove 15 miles more after stopping for about 15 mins and it is all fine again and temp gauge is normal and no light or fault codes .

I'd pop into a garage and ask someone to have a quick look for you.

Car is in the garage as I had a esp service light come on and abs so could be a sensor burning out
