'Rear demist' is also listed as a top consumer in the eco menu.
Real-time mpg drops by nearly half (e.g. 25mpg on the motorway instead of 45mpg). Fuel consumption at idle increases from about 0.2gal/hr to 0.6gal/hr (assuming nothing else was running, such as aircon).

When I had my diesel Astra, nine times out of ten I could tell a regen was in progress because the car felt sluggish to drive. In winter when the blowers were set for warm air they would start piping through really hot air during a regen, especially if the regen was occurring when driving at speed.
So i will take that as a no then to my question?

I owe you a pint. Pinged just before I got home regen started so went for a blast down the road. Just after it finished. So I've reset trip 2 and every 400 miles I'll run the app I think to keep an eye on it. Good find OP as torque doesn't do the dpf for me.

I'm using elm327 reader from eBay for about £10

Has anyone tried the ELM327 identifier app, to see if any of these cheapie Ebay items are legit?

i tried the app today with a cheap elm327 dongle from amazon and the app was not able to connect to it, fair dues the creator does say that some cheap elm dongles will not work, so i think i will invest in the one he used when making the app (icar2)

I had to do the same, the one i use for the torque app didn't work. The one i listed in the first post works well.

so why do you suppose there is a price difference between the colours of the dongles?

I got one of these over the weekend!

                          Its great to be fair.

used it to do loads on the mrs Audi A1 aswell. Turned loads of things on like Gauge sweep, autio mirror drop in reverse etc. Turned her service light off too. Its great

Wish there was an app to do that much to the Vauxhall

Will the Vgate icar2 Mini OBD2 Bluetooth Android Scanner plus the OPL DPF Monitor Lite App work on the later model Insignias such as the 170 engines
