On my usually wasteful search of crap (useful information) on the web I note there is a service note of some sort from Vauxhall on 2009 A20DTH Insignia's with regard to swirl flaps coming loose and damaging engine. Flutter noise would be a swirl flap coming loose. Worth following up if you have a 2009? Before its ingests it and dies.

Hi im new to the forum my siggy started making a funny noise same just as turbo kicks in take foot off get a flutter noise like metal sound did not know someone got a video of this nosie see if its the same just hope its not swirl flaps that found on net

The noise seems to be coming from drivers side as passenger you can not hear it some times feel little engine movement ( rocking forward and back ) I have tried to look for swirl flays but cant find them are they top of engine or right at the back or may be I dont have them ?
I have phoned a vux specialist said not come across swirl flaps fail but turbo fail on the CDTI engines.Comment

I dont hear anything unusual there. Correct me if I'm wrong but your car has the VGT and no bypass. I'd say it's just turbo spooling down with vanes changing after boost. Sound is air under pressure.Comment
