Well its pretty simple really find the coolant tank unscrew the top off and top it up, there should be marker lines on the side of the tank. i have posted a piccy of what you are looking for

Coincidentally, mine has done this too today, after getting a similar warning about a month ago and topping it up. I cant see any obvious leaks and there is no cloud of white steamy exhaust. Are these 2.0 diesels prone to coolant leaks or head gaskets going and if so from where? Its done 79k miles and isnt thrashed.
        Cheers
        Jim

Yes, they leak very often, just look at the topic about EGR cooler repair. Mine used a tank each 1000km, my father-in-laws suddenly used a tank in 20km

Common one the egr cooler. Mine started leaking slowly then quickly got worse. Well worth checking on it

Filled it up last week, got the message again today, "coolant level low" I suspect this is faulty, I'm not mechanically minded, so will need garage assistance, is this a long job as I need the car for work, anyone have estimated costs?
