  • Tyre Width change?

Hi All, I've just bought a 2011 Insignia and dont really feel like I'm in control of it half the time. I think the tyres (which have probably been on the car for years as its only done 4 k miles in 4 years) are 'baked' so onto google I popped to look at tyres. It has 245 45 18's at mo but I cant find any decent tyres with a fuel efficiency rating lower than E. Can I put 225's on? or does anyone have a good tyre choice that has an a-c fuel efficiency rating. I get maybe >400 miles per tank (1.8petrol) which compared to my old Audi a4 1.8 is pony!

    Here we are:

Buy Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 245/45Y18 (100) tyres Homologated for fitment to certain Jaguar cars from Kwik Fit, the leading fast-fit tyre specialists in the UK. Buy and book fitting online!

    Fuel efficiency B
    Wet Grip A
    Noise 67dB

    These are 245 45 18s

And yes, sounds very much with the age a change is very much due

Cheers Paul, I did see these but the site I looked at retaed them with an E. I think on looking at multiple sites they were wrong. Happy Days.

I have the same size tyres on my Elite. I got 2 new Falkens during last year, keenly priced & good eco, wet & noise ratings, you just have to look at more than 2 ratings/reviews from different sources to make sure any bad ratings/reviews are the exception rather than the rule.

I find this site good for reasearching before buying with size sorted by efficiency rating:
