  • Thieving Idiots....

Parked the car for 10 mins in a NCP and some has nicked the front badge!!

Do I really need to pay £53 for a pre facelift emblem? anybody know any half decent plain grill replacements?

Bar stewards. I always wondered why there were so many Vauxhalls with their badges missing. Looks like easy money [emoji35]

Its a well know fact that the vauxhall badges on the insignia are prone to falling off due to the heat of the engine. So more than likely fell off rather than stolen. When replacing it use a strong body panel bond glue

Yeah but they left the clips in place when it was snapped off so this is a clear case.. however I did wonder about what glue to use if I replaced it..

I don't think they can fall off, they are secured by multiple pins. Its more the fact is been stolen. I held mine in with partly with double sided tape and has been fine.

Problem is the damage they could do in trying to remove a well secured badge meaning the grille also requires replacement.

I always wondered why I always use to see missing front badges on the front of insignias.

Heck when I purchased mine it's front badge was missing. Thought when I looked into the old adds for the car the badge was present and accounted for.

Wouldn't surprise me if people were half inching them. Reminds me of the old Merc badges people would snap off..

Are the preface lift cars more common for this or does it effect the entire range?

Mine fell off a few weeks ago. I got to work, looked back at my car and there was a bloody black opel badge i guessed it must have fallen off on the way to work. £50 for a new one stuck the new one on with araldite so its going nowhere!

That's the first "mod" I done when I got the car..... removed the badge and sikaflex onto the back off it.

The problem is the Vauxhall badge on the grille is essentially an aftermarket fit. And not well applied either. The badge just falls off over time due to degradation of the adhesive.
