  • Hello

    Hi,

Joined a few weeks ago after buying my first Insignia (2009 1.8 Elite Nav) after having several Cavaliers, Vectra B & C and absolutely love the car. A class or 2 above the Vec C it replaced (Vec C 3.2 GSi - pics below).

Only Issues I found are the passenger mirror doesn't auto fold (normal direction movements work) and passenger seat doesn't heat up (switches itself off after 20 seconds or so).
Have read several possible solutions on here for these so will probably address in the summer.

Anyway quick pic of the car after her initial drive, haven't had a day without rain since to take any more and a couple of the Vec she replaces.

    Hi,

Nice cars!....How you finding the drop in power from the 3.2 to the 1.8? Is the refinement of the Insignia making up for it?

Missing the low down grunt of the V6 a little but the insignia is far superior in every other way, for general round the doors it's ideal, joining motorway from slip road is where the 1.8 is a little lacking.

        I always found my 1.8 fine...Though I hadn't previously been driving a monster!

The 3.2 was a great engine but a pig to work on, changing the thermostat was the worst (most ridiculous location ever in an engine). Wanted my next one to be easier to work on, got loads of room in the 1.8. So glad I upgraded, loving the car. Have just had cambelt kit & waterpump done for peace of mind (wasn't due but plan to keep for a long time)

Welcome along. Now heres an idea that 3.2 engine would be an animal in an insignia

                  Welcome
Nice colour on the vec-c but then I might be biased as it is the same colour as my vec-c when I had it.
