Sorry....I couldn't help myself!
Are people still using them? The last one I had was a neat little one that slotted into the cd slot so the holder itself was nice and central. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CD-Slot-M...EAAOSw5h5ZcK542017 Vauxhall Insignia Grand Sport Sri Nav 1.5 (165ps) Turbo petrol in Lava Red - Keyless entry and start - 18” five spoke alloy wheels - Front fog lights - Tinted rear windows - Aluminium sports pedals - Ambient interior led lighting - Front and rear parking assist - Active emergency braking - Forward collision assist - Front pedestrian alert - Traffic sign recognition - Lane keep assist - Cruise control - Speed warning and limiter - Voice recognition - Bluetooth - Duel zone climate control - Front and rear electric windows - High beam assist - Auto lights - Auto wipers - Wifi hotspot - 8” colour touchscreen Navi 900 with Android Auto, Apple Car Play and DAB

I'm using a Belkin one for mine.
I picked it as it allows for bigger devices along with there cases. Use to hold the phone dead steady too but over time seems to have gained a little "flex" to it
Though I solve this by fitting the phone in a way that it leans against a part of the dash.

I use this one on the air vent. Inexpensive, discreet and very practical. I have a large phone (LG V20) with a case, and I put the magnetic plate inside the back plate plate of the phone so it's hidden, put the case on the phone and the magnet is still strong enough to hold the phone in place on the air vent.

That's the same kind of holder i use, can't fault it either,
Over the years I've tried all manner of phone holders, however this type of system seems to be the best yet, it does it's job ads more importantly it's discreet.
(if you look around the net you can find ones like this that have a adhesive 'magnet' that you can apply wherever you want without having to 'block-up' your air vents.)
