  • Clay mitt v clay bar

currently have and using a g3 clay mit but i am curious how long will a clay mit last is there a specific point you stop using it and replace with a new one am asking as it must after time become contaminated itself so i a, thinking do i get a new mit or try a clay bar?
so with clay bars after you have used a lump of it to do your car do you sling it or reuse it?

I've never used Clay Mitt, although i've seen some good reviews for them,

as for the clay bar, i tend to use a lump a couple of times on the body work, (this really depends on how much contaminants it picks up), then put it to one side for using on my windows..(or the wifes car...but don't tell her that...)

I have always thought this as well. I’m on my 2nd clay mitt now so would like to know when it should be changed also.

Same one since the grey one but it was only 30hrs ago!

I haven't tried a mit yet but I do plan on getting one at some point if only to try one. I've had my clay bar a couple of years now but I've only ever used it on a very clean car and I don't suffer from many contaminants so the clay is still really clean. As I say...I haven't tried a mit yet but will say the down side to a clay bar is it's small and I find my hand cramps up a bit after a while because of the way you need to hold it. Does a lovely job though. Anybody who hasn't clayed should try it. It leaves that car really, really smooth ready for waxing.

I have used a clay bar, heard the mitts were easier to use so started with them and think they are great. Highly recommend
