  • Both Rear windows wont open

    Hi all

Just wondering and hoping anyone has an idea or maybe had the same prob with the rear windows, prob started a while ago one window failed to open and then the other one
I was told it was the regulators but whats the chances of both regulators going within a couple of days apart... Ive ordered a replacement driver door switch in case its been water penetration
and ive also checked the fuse box and no blown fuses ... any help would be appreciated ... Thanks

Ah...You do have a siggy....I just asked you in the welcome thread.

It does sound odd both regulators would go. Have you ruled out Insignia gremlins by disconnecting the battery for 10 or 20 minutes? Always worth a try before spending cash.

the rear doors haven't filled with water have they? Check the grommets under the door have been removed. Earlier models were prone to the grommets preventing water exiting the doors

Insignia Stu, If you put key in driver door lock and hold key in unlock position do all the windows come down? To put them back up hold the key in the locking position

Hi Minuteman , Thanks for the reply ... I tried what you suggested and my key only opens the driver door even if i hold it ... although if i hold the open button on the remote only the passenger and driver windows open and the switch inside the car is set to power the back windows as well ...
