  • Shogun classic 3.2 DID - Fuel gauge erratic

Fuel gauge never reads the same reading twice full, tank, empty etc etc.

I decided to check out the sender unit but cant for the life of me find an access panel
i found a panel under the middle seats but that looks like the fuel pump.

carpet at back is glued down, so cant see it being under there

Its a long shot but does anyone have an idea?

I don't know if this will help your issue but my son has a Shogun and he had an intermittent problem with his temperature gauge, One minute it would be working fine then it would shoot up to the top making him think the car was overheating. After he did some research, his turned out to be a dry solder joint on a resister behind the instrument panel. He soldered it and the problem went away. It might be worth keeping in mind if all else fails or might be worth searching to see if the fuel gauge suffers from the same issue.

i rang a backstreet garage and they want £180 to fix it.

You may find more results searching Pajero rather than Shogun. I think it's only called shogun in Britain but Pajero everywhere else.
