  • Service suspension message on start up

    Lowered my car last week,which has flexride,with no probs at all.

    Fitted the same springs to a mates up the street today,which also has flexride,and on start up were getting service suspension message,,completely at a loss to why this should come up,,checked all connections again and all seem fine,,stumped !!!

    Anyone any ideas,,,the car in question is a 16 plate 2.0t ,petrol turbo

    You could try the old battery off for 20 minutes to see if it clears it. It my have just logged it and got stuck in the memory.

        My flexride sometimes give an error too, one of the front sensors seems to cause issue from time to time. The fault clears itself as the next start, as must of the time no error is shown. So if it keeps popping up, there it's something wrong with your suspension.

            1. Check plug connections to shocks if they were disconnected, they can be a bit stiff to reconnect. You may not have disconnected. Or more likely;
            2. Check continuity between connector to shock and plug under wheel-arch liner on rear of wheel arch - before wiring goes to the interior. I've had both wires go on separate occasions on off side. The nearside is fine. When I compared the wiring routing on the two sides the offside is not as neat, which may have contributed to fault. There is only 2 wires with a plug at either end so easy to eliminate if this is the fault. My guess is the routing along the trailing arm causes a break, the 2 wires went within a couple of months of each other. If you get codes read and it related to rear offside I'd say this is defo your problem, just coincidence, doing the work triggered it.

              Hi its at vauxhall they just rang saying error is ABS front right sensor open / Short and said it could also be the speed sensor. Awaiting next call from them.

                  Yep just got it back from vauxhall, basically they said from 2016 onwards there is another ride height sensor which after being lowered will always throw up this message. Said the new model insignia has the same sensor so be the same if they get lowered. Said it only takes 5ml to trigger the warning. They had a technical case raised with Vauxhall about it and thats what they came back with. On a plus note when I went to pick the car up the lads that work there, reset the threshold for these sensors so its nolonger alerting
