I like your bravery of masking up the front end, but tbh it would probably have been the same amount of effort to take them out of the bumper like I did. It only took about an hour to take the bumper off, remove the trims and re fit the bumper

          Good write up
I have been wanting to do this since i got my siggy a month ago
Curious though, did you NEED to remove the bumper to take the chrome trims off?
Good few tips there for me moving ahead with doing my own

Unfortunately as otherwise you can't release the fastening tabs

              yes i see that now

i read this thread and i was too impatient to wait for a response and went out to give it a try, i left a few small indentations on the black backing of the grill, but nothing too noticeable

good thread, thanks for the tips

I personally would have used black vinyl.
No need for masking up or drying times.

If you didn't like it, then the vinyl is easily removed and your grille is still intact.

Anyone ever kept the top two trims chrome? As in the main top one and then the split one directly underneath?

Good job some of us are still here to provide an answer
I've seen it recently but it was on a car for sale on eBay - looks hellish mate.
