  • Air con on when off?

I'm pretty sure this isn't an issue but have noticed it a couple of times now. Last night it was 15c outside and I had the climate control set to 18c. After driving for a while I noticed it was a bit chilly and held my hand up to the vent. The air felt really cold but the air con screen showed it as off.

My question is does the air con still come into play to match cabin temperature to the display temperature even though it shows as off?

It may have been just cold air from outside but felt colder. I haven't noticed this in warmer weather because I usually have the air con turned on then anyway.

Ac on, will get cabin to temp quicker Mark, can't really comment on this one yet, but red one needed Ac on to quickly adjust temp

I think it was probably cold air from outside.

Wondered this myself. Mine is really cold while on Lo but no AC on. I get these marks on the window on the outside when it’s warm outside.

That's deffo the air con on doing that. Yeah it comes on then even though it isn't saying it's on. Its part of the climate control doing its job.

Maybe direct away from the screen. It might be causing it to try to demist.

The other vents don’t really cool the car just your face tbh [emoji23] the screen cools as it passes over everything if you get me. I’ve tried tonight with it off and vents open and seems to be better. Wasn’t aware the ac would come in if I had it off. Did think the low setting was hella cold mind [emoji23]

Yeah I think it's the difference between stand alone air con and climate control. If you want it at say 18c and sucking in the outside air isn't cooling enough, climate control is gonna pull on all it's resources.

If the front window demist is on the aircon will come on and the cold air will cause condensation to form on the outside of the window.
