  • Difference between the 140 and 170 bhp engines

    Hi all.

Prior to my insignia I had a 2007 Passat b6. This was the 140 varient. I later had it remapped to 170 to match the 170 bhp engine. The engines themselves were the same bar a bigger turbo.

Are there any differences between the 140 ecoflex engine and the 170 bhp engine such as turbos or is it just a map?

Engines are the same but aren't the gearboxes different? M32 & F40?

Yep and the m32 isn’t rated for the extra power

I have an elite with the F40 box with 140bhp. If I was to get a remap to 170 do you think I would have much trouble?

I checked using the vin tool and it stated a F40 box? It's a 64 plate insignia elite.

I know someone has posted something about www.ecat24 if you can find the whole link you out your vin number in and it comes up with a list of how your car was built, mine shows as an f40 as it’s the 158bhp one
