  • Where is my oil filter? 2014 Techline CDTI EC Diesel 1956cc

I've shone around with a torch but can't find my oil filter anywhere. Whereabouts is it?

    Thanks

      That's brilliant, thanks.
How come Haynes is free online now? Is that just a trial period?

It's not the full manual, just a selection of free guides. I suppose they want you to buy the manual.

Yes, did the oil change in the sun yesterday actually!
Sucked oil out with a pump through dipstick.
            Jacked front-right wheel.
            Took off the front-right wheel.
Inserted cardboard V to funnel oil away from engine.
Loosened oil filter housing and drained, using a socket, ratchet and extender bar, from above.
Unscrewed oil filter housing by hand from below and removed.
Realised I'd bought the wrong oil filter (f**k) and that it was 3pm on a Sunday (double f**k)!
I'd bought Halfords HOF303 and needed Crosland L10260DE (GM 93191747).
Mad dash across town in wife's car to pick up the right filter with <5 minutes to spare before closing time.
            Fitted new filter.
Added ~5L of Halfords 5W/30 (GM Dexos 2) oil.
            Wheel on.
Reset the oil age counter in the cluster.

I've got photos and will update when I get around to it.

I thought my Zafira’s oil filter was in a stupid place until I bought an insignia.
I was wondering about a piece of plastic guttering instead of the cardboard ?

                OK, photos as promised:

You can see the access to the oil filter housing I used in Scene 1.
You can see the oil filter itself in Scene 4, Scene 7, & Scene 9.
You can see how to access it from the wheel bay in Scene 10.
