  • Windscreen Camera - what's it for ? '16 Elite model

I've just bought a 2016 Elite model and have noticed what looks like a camera pointing forwards out of the windscreen under where the rain and light sensors are but as far as I can see I don't have any adaptive cruise control option or lane departure thingys on it. Can anyone advise what it might be for, seems a lot of expense for no use ?

So if the camera is there, aside from adding buttons to the dash and steering wheel would this make it fairly easy for Vauxhall to add adaptive cruise, lane departure warning and road signs

Would be expensive plus I think adaptive cruise is in the grille
