Well, after a couple of weeks i discovered that the so called 'black powder coat' started to peel off, they hadn't been 'powdered' at all, just oversprayed with a cheap gloss black...

so ..£250 later they've been in to a body shop an completely refurbished..(acid stripped to bare metal), primed and re-powder coated in High gloss black,
had them re-fitted earlier today, and i'm loving how much better they look.

oh and i threw on a Shark Fin just for good measure..

(i do have an original GPS shark fin and was wondering if i were to connect it to the existing 'mount' would the wiring inside it act as a standard radio aerial ?...or does it only receive a GPS signal.. which are basically an advanced radio signal ?)

Yeah I like them wheels black. I'm really starting to lean toward getting mine done.

You will lose FM if you originally haven't previously had a shark fin.

Only way to do it is hide your antenna inside the headlining and fit the shark fin.

It's pretty easy. Pop one or both the back pillar covers off and pull it down. Take a look a pics 7, 8 and 9 in this link https://insignia-drivers.uk/threads/...elift-Insignia it was a different job I was doing but it shows how to get the covers off.
