  • Limp mode, no codes, no split in boost pipe

Hi, I heard a quiet knock the other day and immediately the car went into limp mode where it has remained.
I had it to a friend who plugged it into his laptop with his expensive software and it found nothing. There are no engine warning lights on, but the service vehicle soon display is on.
I removed the boost pipe, no splits, I've cleaned the MAF and MAP sensors with wd40 specialist cleaner. The MAP sensor was really grubbed up but cleaning it has made no difference.
I can't hear any noise from the turbo and there is no smoke from the exhaust.
My friend said the EGR seemed to be fine.
Could it be the boost solenoid? I don't have equipment to test it or money to waste, would the solenoid be a good bet? Anyone got any advice?

    Many thanks in advance

Im having the same issue here...
But my one sometime is good.
For example it goes into limp mode when im accelerating hard...and it feels like its not at max power...
Today for example i tryed it and pushed it like a maniac but it didint go to limp mode....but i still think power is not 100%...
Im stuck with this problem for weeks now...
Boost solenoid will be changed next week so hope it sorters it...
By the way only svs msg on and no lights and no fault code...

Check boost hose is seated properly, mine isn't and has popped off a few times. As above, drive extra hard and no issue, go to overtake without pushing too hard and limp she goes.

looks like your mates expensive piece of kit isn't up to the job
you will need a reader than can read vauxhall codes like opcom or similar
you can waste a lot of money changing parts but unless you get the codes read people can only guess whats wrong

So, I took it to vauxhall, barely interested and wanted £100 just to plug it in.
          No thanks.
          Went to a local garage.
Only the snap on found any codes. Turns out it was the DPF. Completely clogged.
Clean out using JLM dpf wash seems to have fixed it. £100 forcthe clean out. Better than the cost of a DPF

I have had this problem again recently and had codes read and think it could be a boost control solenoid

              Hi everybody
I'm new here, but desperate for help. I have a 2009 cdti , and about a month ago the car went into limp mode with "service vehicle soon" message on the dashboard screen. No other warning lights. What I have done next is highly not advisable, but as I slowed down to 20-25mph, I turned off and on the engine and warning message was gone, the car drove off well. Took it to the garage, their tester read no codes , tried another one, they said it came up with EGR fault (I took the EGR off with a friend two weeks before that and cleaned it, but that didn't help)....so, changed the EGR with a new one, Next day....surprise!!! Limp mode again! It's only doing it when I press the gas in order to take over or to change gears, the car starts ok, drives great, it's all random. I look on the internet for the fixes in this matter, Split turbo pipe, Fuel Rail Pressure sensor, fuel pressure regulator, DPf, ....all are ok or not coming as faulty on the testers. What can I do next? I will, of course, go back to the garage regarding the repairs they've done with no results. Although they said they can't offer guarantees I think there're are some consumer rights for this. Have a great day all of you. Alex

It’s would really help if people would stop adding to this thread and open their own. Cheers
