Was driving on the motorway coz on dash it said particle filter was full, continue driving. I did this and the message went off, in my way back another message came on the dash, saying engine overheating, stop driving, I pulled off the motorway and stopped for a while. Restarted the car and the overheat message came bk on the dash, the engine sounded really noisy and shuddering, all oils and coolants where fine, no sign of any leaking. I’m waiting for a mobile mechanic to come out and see what’s the problem. I hope it isn’t to serious. Has anybody else had this issue. It’s 2012 2.0 cdti. I tried the car 2 days later and still says engine overheating and temperature gauge goes straight into red

One of the EGT sensors has died. I believe it's linked with regeneration as well

Just had this happen again to me (3rd time). I’m 150 miles from home but thankfully brought a spanner with me, removed the + battery connection and reconnected and works fine after that. Still don’t want to be doing this on the side of the M6 with 2 young children in the car. Last 2 times this happened, the garage couldn’t find anything wrong with it after they got it going again. I will be looking to trade it in.

So I had an overheating warning come on, after two hours tried to start and it runs for 3 or so seconds, temperature shoots to 130 and makes a clunking noise. Those are the error codes shown, mr clutch don’t know what to do but are also saying it throwing smoke from the back when they started it, I love this car... I’ve been reading the posts, do any of your cars smoke???
thanks in advance1 Photo
