  • My Astra appears

Its taken six full weeks to come on the market.

£5495 i got £3700 p/x on Insignia. But to be fair it needed a new windscreen £100 through my insurance, it needed minimum £300 spending on the front bumper and grill after a pheasant hit me head on. Still have photos of damage. There was a very small rust spot coming through bottom of drivers door, top or rear door the paint had somehow rubbed of and turned a shade of white, wasn't that noticeable. Two of the alloys had started to flake / peel, again nothing bad. Passenger side front wing didn't quite line up with bumper after i had to drop the bumper to remove headlight to remove x3 bulbs id dropped inside the light .

I did say if i was going to keep it i would have to spend around £600 on her to bring back to good. Not that she wasnt in good condition everywhere.
Notice there is no front shots of the car showing grill etc.

I have 100's of photos if any new owner or potential owner wants prove of anything, for 3 1/2 years i took photos everytime she got cleaned.

All in all not too disappointed at the price i got, if sold private i was looking at £5k.

Hope she gives someone else as much pleasure as she did me.

I got £8600 px for my facelift Insignia and they stuck it on the forecourt for £8999. So not really much of a mark up.

I got £5300 for my old Astra would've needed 4 new tyres as they where close to the limit respay on drivers door as somebody used it as a parking sensor in a car park, new mot and service and a couple of other bits and pieces. It's up for £6999. I would say they have about £6k in it. God help the person that buys that 1.4 n.a 0-60 in three weeks.

Going back to trading in my first car for a astra. It was a 206 5 door with 60k on it. Good first car. Got 800 quid and it went back up for 2k a few weeks later.. since then I've always haggled up or walked away. Amazing how many people change there mind when your about to walk away from a deal.
