I borrowed my daughters Iphone 6 and it hooked up straight away with Apple Car play, and it looks good
Android Auto is still disabled/ greyed out in system/settings, if I get VX dealer to enable it, will give it a try

Anybody got feedback on which they prefer Apple Car Play vs Android Auto
good and points on each of them ??

Sounds very fiddly for something that should be straight forward.

I don't understand the unit showing android auto, before update it was just car play. So the fact android auto is an option, all be it unselectable is confusing.

With respect to you if I go into System Settings, Apple Car Play is in Bold Letters, and I have used daughters Iphone on it which confirms it is Enabled

Whilst in the same settings, Android Auto is, greyed out, that suggests to me it cannot be enabled, unless there is another
menu somewhere else, in settings, give me the sequence how you enable or disable yours, Thank You..

I think either android Auto wasn't quite ready or Vauxhall were still quibbling over the licence to use it at the time of some of the early Navi 900 that came with the hardware. A software update will soon have it working.

No I think your correct, you just click it on and off. But as said update will have it working if you want it.

I think you are spot on the money, with my car being first reg in May 2016, it must have slipped through the next, and being a ex hire car, nobody bothered to question it
just used factory installed Navi 900 which is well out of date, I guess...

Hi the unit has never shown Android Auto in system settings it is greyed out, the only option you can change is Apple car play which is in bold print
I intend to try both once Android Auto is got working, and make a judgement which suits me best..

Have you spoken to the dealer to see if there is a software update. It should be free. As for nav updates. I hear they can be as often as every 3 months. That's according the the Vauxhall website where grandland and grandland X owners can download nav updates every 3 months free for 5 years. The rest of us have to go through the dealers and pay through the nose. I think I'll get mine updated next July while the car is in for it's second service.

Been to dealers to day to see if they could enable android auto in system settings after a 2 hour wait they said they could not achieve it, and they had online chat, with Vauxhall Tech, at Vauxhall Main
they said once a solution if found, they will call me back to dealership for a fix, what a bummer !!!
