You always get peoples issues on forums as it tends to be people asking how to solve problems & not solely complimenting these cars. They are genuinely excellent cars for the money, and with there being so many sold there is bound to be issues. The newer cars have reviewed parts where they are known to be fail points & they do run really well.

Had my 12 plate Bi turbo for around a year now.
So far it has not been too bad.
Replaced power steering pump under warranty as mine simply decided to give up the ghost. No fluid leakage but it took me by surprise as I moved out of a parking space. I nearly crashed into another car before I realised what had happened and stamped on the brakes.
Handbrake refused to apply. Better than refusing to release I suppose. Local stealer couldn't find any record in the event logger. Carried out a software reset anyway.
Odd random Service Suspension warning. Again, no record in the event logger.
Boot has refused to open a few times.
Door open alarm has continued to bong away despite all doors checked. Only shuts up when key is removed from ignition, alarmed then disarmed and engine started again.
R134a decided to do one because i didn't use the air con for a month.
My biggest ongoing concern is the bi turbo aspect of the engine. Between 1500-2000rpm there is a low pitch but quite audible whine as the two turbos start to work together. Its not the high pitch noise of turbo's pressurising but the sound of a valve trying to open/close. If I hold revs the noise stays until I accelerate past 2000rpm. I do not recall this happening when I got the car a year ago. It has only been present for the last couple of months. I have not noticed any drop in performance but unsure if a bypass valve or something is sluggish in operation or about to break.
Any advice would be great as I dont think I would be taken seriously if I tried to explain this at my local Evans Halshaw.
Many thanks
Dave
Have a look at my post about the intercooler hose being loose..

Not siggy, but when I had my Vectra , the thermostat failed. Took it to a dealer as the temperature gauge wouldn't move and I had no warm air in the cabin. They said the gauge wouldn't move as it was cold outside . I went to another dealer and they replaced the stat straight away.
