  • How the hell do you remove this bit of rear lower trim?!

    Hi all
Currently trying to fit some parking sensors and having a bit of trouble reach a grommet from under the car to feed the sensor cables back up onto the boot.

I've removed the plastic rivets etc on this bit of trim. And can see from the inside of the trim that it's held on by what looks like just some clips that would push in and lock.

How the hell do I get this bit of trim off? I've pulled and pulled but it doesn't seem to come away. Is there some kind of trick? I don't want to break it by pulling too hard.
It's almost impossible to get to the license plate lights grommet otherwise.

Any help would be greatly appreciate. I'm about to rip my hair out!

I've actually just realised that entire grommet that I'm trying to push cables through comes away. Leaving me with a big hole I can just pop the cables through and then feed through the grommet from inside the boot.

EDIT* Sorry everyone. Took me about two hours of huffing and puffing, cutting and scratching arms, twisting hands in all manner of angles to try and reach up behind the bumper from underneath a lowered insignia to try push a parking sensor cable through a tiny hole made in a rubber grommet! I eventually realised the entire grommet just pushes out leaving me a big gaping hole to feed my cables through, and then push through the grommet from inside the boot. MUCH easier!

Don’t worry about it, these things are sent to try us. I put reversing sensors in Meriva b last Saturday but that worked out ok in the end

Up and working now. Managed to get there in the end.

I'll need some sealant round the sensors, and may need to switch the connections about. I've mounted the little screen/beeper upside down on the roof, and have realised it may be configured to be the other way round. Some experimenting ahead!
