  • Coolant level low

    Coolant (and the water) go in the coolant resorvoir, top right of engine on the bulkhead.



    (Don't mean to sound patronising, but you did say you were a novice...)

              You're right there is.... the parking bay lines on the left of the bottom picture are longer than the lines on the right and my ocd brain cannot compute this....

                      Yours could quite possibly be the EGR cooler has split if you aren't getting visible sign like above.

                          It might settle for the first couple of days, as trapped air works its way out. But it should stabilise thereafter.

                          A 1cm drop in the header tank suggests quite a lot of air. Makes me think that the workshop was a little lax in bleeding the system.
