Good luck with yours and I hope it solves your issues
Apparently it's all bearings they'll be doing, though my problem is with the pinion bearing(s). I was toying with having the gen2 end casing installed, but its another £350 on top & I'm probably not going to own the car by the time the bearings start going again, if they ever do.

Hope it sorts it for you ,it's a big job for 3hours work I wouldn't have thought you would get the box out in that time

It's with the box still in situ. They're a VXR specialist & have done thousands of F40 & M32 box repairs & it comes with an 18 month/18,000 mile warranty.

I'm just glad I don't have a diesel, from this forum & the VectraC forum I was on, the vast majority of problems seem to occur with all the diesels.

Got back from WGMotorworks just over 90 minutes ago. All bearings replaced, gearbox internals cleaned, put back together & filled with Fuchs Titan Sintofluid 75W80. All done in 2.5 hours!

At last, no whining noise & pretty smooth gear changes, should last the lifetime of me having the car.

Warren showed me the old bearings, which didn't look too bad despite the noise, but the new Timken bearings certainly have made it a pleasure to drive again.

Next job on the list is the cam belt, which Warren quoted me as £215 all in with genuine Vauxhall parts, which I thought was pretty reasonable.

            Can't recommend WGMotorworks enough!

Wish WGMotorworks were closer to me, as if they were, there's a fair chance I'd still be in the Insignia instead of my wee Corsa!

Well, I ended up having mine done in the end - The whine had become a screech, it was becoming embarrassing to drive.

£1050 with an included new clutch (They had the entire sub frame out, so why not replace the clutch too!) that was <30% life left in it. Best decision I ever made, the car feels new again.

Well my missus had a 1.2 Panda for years and the dmf never went on that! Never had any dpf issues either.

                    Must be Vauxhall only issue.

When I bought my Vec it had 78k on the clock, delving into the history the clutch was done at 72k. I had it remapped, drive it fairly hard then gave it to my son in law. Unfortunately it was written off with 140k on it, but he had had no dmf or clutch issues.

Maybe just good timing on my part or unlucky timing on yours?
