  • Hello from Cheshire!!

    Hi guys,

I'm new to the Insigna world but have been on a few different forums before, mostly HCOC and thought it'd be time to say hi.

I picked her up 6 months ago, Sri prefacelift in the lovely gunmetal grey. I always wanted one since they first came out and when the time came for a new car (something a bit more family) I knew what it had to be.
I swore at the time I wouldn't change anything, wanted it to stay standard, yada yada. However...

I've seen some eyebrows I like which will give the headlights a bit more of an aggressive look and some leather seats that I'm interested in, ( still trying to work out if they'll fit ok) this is before all the other things I'm sure I'm going to want to do.
I've also been looking at the Android units to replace that lovely red screen and was hoping for a bit of advice.

I've been on AliExpress and seen this. 8" Android 7.1 Car DVD For Opel Vauxhall Insignia CD300 CD400 Auto Radio FM WiFi PC GPS Navigation Audio Video Multimedia System

This looks a good buy as I'm wanting something that I can use with my dash cam and reversing camera. Needs to have Wi-Fi and offline nav for those more remote places. I did look at the Tesla style screens but I couldn't get used to the touch screen volume control on my last headunit. I just found it quite dangerous when you're driving.

I'm interested to hear everyone's thoughts on this and any suggestions for other mods that you may be able to tempt me with 😉

    Thanks in advance all 👍

Thanks for the advice exclusiv, I wasn't sure as I've not had electric seats before, didn't really fancy finding out they wouldn't work after taking out mine 😂. Will be posting some pics up soon guys when I've had chance to give it a clean down. Been doing some long shifts at work so not had the chance for a while. Will need to have a bit of detailing as I'm sure Mr T was the previous owner judging by the scratches round the handles! 😱. Been thinking maybe bigger alloys, tinted windows and deleting the chrome as it's literally everywhere, Allen time though as new baby means holding off for a while. I'm wanting to give it a bit more of an aggressive look so think I will get something like this https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F253899740782 when the time comes, for now though may just plastidip it.

Sorry for the state of the car but with working 6 - 7 days a week as well as fixing up the house it can be a real pain to try to find time to give her the attention she needs. Alloys will need either a refurb and a colour change or just a whole new set, still undecided and a whole lot of polishing to get rid of the scratches around the handles. Will get there though just be a slow process till the house is done as with a little one on the way I have to prioritise.
