  • Sri suspension

Anyone else find the suspension in an Sri so damn hard.

I’ve never had a back ache until I drive this car.

I might have to say goodbye to it. It’s to hard of a ride

It is sports suspension!!!! You obviosuly didn't do your homework before buying. Did you test drive?

Of course I test drove it. But I drive 60miles a day in it, a test drive would never prepare anyone for how it would be over a length of time. And to you rather rude statement about doing homework before I bought, I knew it had lower, sports suspension but I never experienced the rough ride in other Vauxhall Sri’s such as my vectra’s and astras.

This is by far the most uncomfortable drive I’ve had. Even my old ford puma was comfier then the insignia.

Frequently as in daily or frequently as in, now and again? My daily drive is 60 miles on the motorway, 300 a week and then all the bits in between. It’s a bone shaker. I’m 35 and it’s doing my back in. I have back ache for hours after driving it. Been out today in the wife’s car and not had a problem. Think I might look at getting a diesel version of what she’s got

Seat. Trust me on this. Took me weeks of backache before I sorted it.
Had to adjust it miles from where I would normally have a seat.
Lower and further back, but now I'm so at home.
My 13 mile drive each way can sometimes take nearly two hours, and more often than not takes an hour of sat in traffic.

I am unsure if you car has the same system as mine but with mine there is different tyre pressure values dependent on if you prefer comfort or eco driving, there is a noticeable difference in the ride if setting pressures to comfort, note the system on mine requires switching the pressure monitor system to a different mode as well as the pressure in tyres.

Lucky you. I’ve just arrived at work and as usual my back has taken the brunt of the journey. After been in the wife’s car all weekend with no pain, it can only be the insignia doing it to me. It will be going up for sale tonight.

Horrendous car comfort wise. Don’t know how boy racers cope with lowered suspension at all.

Think my days with Vauxhall’s are over. Massive let down.

I'd try adjusting the seat before doing something as drastic as selling the car. As MattG said, he had the same issue until he got his seat right. I had a few back aches in my last insignia until I got the seat setup. It definitely isn't caused by the harder suspension because many on here run their cars on harder suspension and bigger wheels.

Hope you get it sorted because your ST is a lovely car.

Seriously work the seat. My back was agony for weeks until realised was the seat.

I have sciatica caused by a car accident a month ago. My SRI has replaced that car. The ride is firm granted but I think the seats are pretty comfy. BUT only after I adjusted it to my liking.

I love the extendable thigh support, didn't think I'd get on with it having short-ish legs but it's brill. Also I'd been looking for a lumbar adjuster on the seat but couldn't fine one - until I noticed a round rocker switch down the side. Adjusted it to my liking and my back is supported nicely!

Only gripe I have is that mine wasn't fitted with the comfort pack so I have the manual handbrake and my arm/elbow doesn't quite reach the armrest - damn
