  • Weird engine temperature

    Hi all.

Recently had my waterpump changed over on my 2014 insignia 2.0 cdti (a month back). Since then I've noticed that my car takes a little longer to warm up than normal.

No biggies I though until this evening. Driving home in stop start traffic on the motorway my car got up to around 70 degrees from where it would go up and down by 5 degrees until I turned off the hot air in which the car climbed up to 91 degrees.

As soon as I turned my heating off it would start dropping back to the 70s area.

On finally reaching my destination I let the car idle and from 91 it dropped to 85 (on dials) in around 3 minutes. The temperature stayed on 91 for the first minute or so.

Is it a failing thermostat or something to do with the replaced water pump.

    I would say thermostat.
