  • Auto stop start

Have just noticed that the stop start doesn’t seem to be working at all for the last few days, why could this be ?

Maybe because the voltage has dropped slightly with using the headlights more with the dark nights and mornings.
LED interior lights. Chrome mirror caps & door handle covers. LED reverse light bulbs. Pedal box. Atomic Alloys. Steel Structure spare wheel. Boot floor risers. Rear exit exhaust & rear valance. M Y ‘15’ front grille.

Also low outside temperature could be one reason.

Strange as stop /start on mine now works with lights on, heated seats on, rear demister on etc. Works within 2 minutes of starting engine normally

Okay, might be something else then. Haven't checked the weather there, we have -5 degrees here. Using electric equipment shouldn't have an effect unless it drains battery too low.

I have no direct experience of Opel's/Vauxhall's start/stop yet, but on my Volvo and Kia S/S didn't kick in if some of these conditions were true (would guess it works in a similar fashion on all cars):
            - low battery voltage
            - outside temperature is not between specific range (too cold or hot)
            - engine coolant temperature is not high enough
            - brake servo/booster underpressure is not sufficient
            - door or bonnet open, seat belt not attached etc..

Regardless of these conditions I sometimes see erratic behavior with SS, as it might stop working under 5-10 degrees no matter how warm the engine is or how long I've driven, but on the other hand it might still stop the engine when it's -15 or -20 degrees outside, which is not under the manufacturer's specified operating range. Go figure..

I have read somewhere that Stop/Start will become inactive if the battery falls below 80% full charge. Lots of cars seem to suffer with a Stop/Start that has a mind of its own, including my partner's Nissan Pulsar. I simply switch Stop/Start off. For some drivers at least it's another 'good idea' poorly implemented IMO

I had the same problem on my 65 plate insignia, full servised, been reading threads about battery voltage, charged my battery witch smart car battery charger suitable for stop/start engines but still didnt works, than someone advice me this and it 100% works on mine, put 1st gear and lift quick the clutch pedal make sure your engine stalls, after that it will works finger crossed, but i worth it check your battery voltage first
