  • WOW! What a looker

Went for a little drive yesterday, fed up with sitting at home. Was going over to Water mead Park (near Leicester) for a walk but changed our mind.
Came back along the Leicester Road (A607) stopped at the end of small tail back waiting for a fellow to turn right, but the lad behind did not, straight into my rear.
Rear bumper trashed, including the cill in the boot, a dent along the bottom of the back door and it sprung the outer skin and inner skin of the door apart (mines an Estate)
That was at 12-15 pm rang my insurance as soon as I got home, details given, that was yesterday. To day got a phone call from a car hire company, filled in forms on line.
Just after 1400 knock at door, 'your courtesy car sir' There on the drive was a silver Insignia sri my17 estate. Nice looking motor, am going to take it for a drive to see if it's as good as it looks.

I’m going to say probably not from the description it doesn’t take a lot to make a car beyond economical repair now a days.

Hope you’s are feeling ok after the accident.

Hope it's reparable, one thing I'm going to do if needs be, is insist that they repair it. The claim is against his insurance, it's his bad driving, why should I lose my motor. I'm retired now, and I would have a problem stretching my finances to a compatible motor. Were all alright, daughter creeked her neck a bit.

PS I'm going to enjoy driving the courtesy car while I have it now a MY17 Taxed Feb this year. It makes my ST look small

PPS They have just picked motor up, they will ring tomorrow with news of whatever the verdict is.

It's a great motor, so quite inside, and I'm a deaf old fart have difficulty picking up the engine revs, for gear change, still another couple of drivers will soon settle. Have driven mostly auto's over the last 20 odd years, lazy drive.

Once hit a fox in an Audi A5,took the front bumper out,fog light, surround, brackets etc.
tescos insurance (never used again) could do a complete fix for £250..an actual Audi front bumper cost more than that.
                          ended paying for it myself.

be carful on what parts they use and cheap fixes..!

Are they repairing it or accessing the cost for the insurers.

You’ve done well on the courtesy car front...when my Tourer went in I got a Skoda Citigo!! Could probably fit it in the back of the Tourer.
