Mine used to work flawlessly since I bought mine. After doing some tinkering fitting things. It's stopped working.

New battery cured it for like 1 day and then stopped working again. Haven't been to fussed about finding out why it's not working.

      My s/s also works fine,
Unfortunately it’s one thing I carnt turn off permanently, which is annoying.

No way can it be good for the engine,as said starter motor, battery etc, turbo must suffer too.

      stupid idea!

Just a update from my car.

My stop start has generally being a little hit and miss. But for some reason today it has being working religiously to the point the other half even commented on it. Maybe the warmer weather?

I had the same problem on my 65 plate insignia, full servised, been reading threads about battery voltage, charged my battery witch smart car battery charger suitable for stop/start engines but still didnt works, than someone advice me this and it 100% works on mine, put 1st gear and lift quick the clutch pedal make sure your engine stalls, after that it will works finger crossed, but it worth check your battery voltage first
