I have a problem with my vauxhall insignia auto gearbox

    1. When the car is warm, when I change from P,N,R to Drive the car jerks forward. I looked all over the net and some people were experiencing similar problem.

Took it to auto specialist and they said it is very likely a software problem and needs update as he said he changed valve body on a few cars and then it had the same problem then took it to main dealers and software update solved it.

Anyone experienced the same and how did you get it fixed.

Car is 2011 estate 2.0cdti auto elite spec.

Another problem is the headlights and high beam not working. Tried to change bulb at halfords didnt work, so is it the ballast?

how can it jerk forward when you have foot brake on? Also is it idling at higher revs before selecting drive?

So if I have my foot on break and then I put it from Park to Drive the car will jerk but it wont move. It only happens when the engine is warm and only when put to drive.

I havent really noticed the idling but it seems to be normal. When i'm driving the car seems fine in terms of engine and gearbox.

Also the mileage on the car is 78,000

hi, I seem to be a busy body on here today as it's my first day, however the last auto gearbox I had a problem like this on turned out to be worn out gearbox oil. when was last time gearbox was serviced and what's mileage in the car?

It's 78,000 miles. Looking at the service book there has never been a transmission oil change. Reading a few places it says you don't need it as it sealed for life and some say you should change it. I hope it's just a transmission oil change.

I've heard that kind of thing before, dont understand how oil can last the life of a vehicle though, surely if that was the case then servicing should be the cheapest/easiest thing in the world. I'm no professional but I just dont understand the logic.

tinkered with a lot of cars /bikes in my time and always changed lubricants as it's probably most perishable item on your vehicle

I have had few auto over the years and mostly it is recommended that its changed (as well as whats in the torque convertor) It gets brownish and has burnt smell when it needs changing.
Edit not wanting to bear bad news but the link below might be relevant.

I've seen that thread, actually seen so many threads but couldnt find anything concrete. I'm getting different things from everyone I spoke to and even online.

Anyone have any idea about the lights. It says AFL light error on dash, if I turn my steering wheel they work. Normal night lights dont work as well as high beam.
