  • Rainwater collecting in estate tailgate

After heavy rain, when I open the tailgate on my estate, a cupfull of water drains from the tailgate on the left side only.

I'm worried that there's a blocked drainage grommet or something, and this should be safely draining out instead of pooling somewhere in the tailgate and possibly causing corrosion.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

Does same on hatchback both sides, open really slowly to give it chance to run away properly, its a pain in the ass

Oh how common a non electric tailgate what a peasent

Mine does exactly the same but I don’t get wet as i open it from a distance

Also on the estate check the rear right cubby hole in the boot and stick your arm in to the bottom towards the back. They are notorious for leaking from up the top and need the grommet re sealing
