  • Service Parking Brake Message

Afternoon all, just done the rear discs and pads on my 2013 plate estate. Wound the calipers in with a proper tool and install went well. Got in the car and tried the handbrake on the button before I pumped the brakes and now I'm getting the 'Service Parking Brake Message' and the hand brake simply won't engage. I'm going to give it the old Royal Navy Reboot and see if that works, but any advice would be appreciated.

So I managed to get to the bottom of the problem.

Because I'd applied the parking brake before pumping the brakes when the hand brake actuated it didn't cover enough distance for the pads to engage so it registered as a fault.

To fix it I just had to pump up the brakes in the pedal, release the parking brake by pushing the button down then re apply it with the button. Works like a dream now.
