Well my time as an insignia owner has ended, had the car since December last year and for the 1st mth it was perfect, 2010 2.0 Cdti, 160bhp SE nav..
But for the last 3 mths it's been totally unreliable. Key fob failed and car won't start, new one needed to be coded. Constant electrical fault where it wud just shut the entire car down without warning. 3 call outs to recovery, new battery fitted. 2 trips to Vauxhall specialist and even they r baffled as to why it's doing it. Dab radio reception is absymal. I came to the conslusion I can't rely or trust it as when it last decided to shut down I was on a duel carriageway doing 70mph!

Got traded today so it's the dealers problem. As nice as it was to drive when it worked I have to say the reputation they have, is in my experience, deserved..

Shame you had a bad experience but there are a hell of a lot of Insignias on the roads so there's bound to be a few dodgy ones around. It also looks like there are a lot of bad experiences with them on forums because a decent percentage of members joining forums do so because they're looking for answers to problems. Every make and model has a forum somewhere with somebody having a bad experience with their car.

Hope you have more luck with your next car....Don't forget what ever make, you're still welcome on the forum and we still like to see pics!

Yeah shame you had a bad experience Dave,I can honestly say I love my 2009 cdti, apart from the usual wear and tear stuff it's been a brilliant motor, I've had it 3 years now , what you getting next ?

I'm now on my third Insignia and none of them has ever missed a beat. I changed from a Ford Focus, which I bought because it was the World's biggest selling car at the time, but it was such an expensive, gas-guzzling bag of nails that Ford and the dealer couldn't wait to wash their hands of it. All cars are potential lemons, like my neighbour's Nissan Qashqai, with 25k on the clock, which needed a new turbo costing £2,600, two months out of warranty, and the costliest and most unreliable cars on my last company fleet were BMW 3 Series.
