    New member issue

    Hi,
    I’m a new member to the site and the proud owner of a 2009 2.0 cdti, picked up yesterday.
    I just wondered if anyone could advise or pass on some knowledge in regards to the following:

    The radio unit DVD 800 Navi works fine (although looks as though it’s been possibly removed at some point) so touch screen and all functions on the steering wheel work. However the buttons and spin wheels although they light up, do not work!
    Is there anything I can do? Is there any way of removing the buttons to check the connections?
    I would take it back but I don’t fancy the 4hr drive back to the garage, but will do if this is a major issue.
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    the dvd800 wasn't a touch screen. has it a touch screen fitted ?

          Yes it’s got a touch screen, which I took out this morning to look for missing cables/connections.
          There’s a connection at the rear of the buttons on the left which I assume goes to the sport button which works.
          There’s a missing connection on the right. There’s a loose connector in the dash but that doesn’t fit. There’s also a loose usb connector just sitting behind there, but strangely there’s one also running into the glovebox which works!
          The more I write, the more I think there’s a bodge job gone on here!
