The story is that I have a faulty interior rearview mirror - it used to dim and go dark green whenever headlights were behind me, but now it does nothing.
The car went into my local dealer and VX technical first told them to replace the interior mirror, which they did but the fault was still there. Technical then told them to replace the driver's door mirror glass (I have no idea why because the dimming door mirror is not a feature on the GS, it was on the facelift Elites), the fault was still there.
VX technical then demanded that I prove the fault so I left my car with the dealer overnight and one of their service staff took it out that night, he then confirmed the fault the next day.
So, the latest is that VX technical are saying that because the car has rear privacy glass, the mirror will hardly ever darken! I know this is not true as mine would darken whenever there was a car behind me, even in built-up areas with street lights.
What I need is for as many GS owners as possible, who have the rear privacy glass, to confirm for me that the mirror does darken around town at night and to let me have their reg number privately so that I can go back to VX technical and prove mine is not normal.
Ok well mine dims. You notice car lights behind go a green colour. More so when they're overly bright. I don't notice so much when the lights don't dazzle.
But yeah deffo works even with the privacy glass. Reg is YY17BGY
