  • Grand sport parking sensors and reverse camera

    Hello,

new member here just bought a grand sport 2018 Sri VX line which i thought had parking sensors included but seems not to ( i was looking at a few models at the same time from the same dealer). it has the sensors that tell me i'm about to crash etc but due to the poor visibility and being used to them i would like the front and rear parking sensors but am struggling to find them for the grand sport anyone have part numbers for them i keep finding ones for the prev model which look like simple plug and play devices and also the reverse camera as I would like that if it isn't too much effort to install ? 3rd one i wouldn't mind the Heads up display too if that isnt too difficult to install

switching from a mazda 6 sport diesel am very happy so far nice quiet comfy drive

    thank you,

      Hi

Have you tried asking a vauxhall dealer if it's possible to have the factory oem ones fitted? They're Incorporated into the drivers screen with zones flashing along with the beeps. My idea was to add a camera at some point but the zone screen has been so good and accurate I haven't bothered with a camera.

Dont think its possible to fit the factory ones after the fact. I didnt spec them to start with but then went in to the dealership a few weeks later to try and add them after a change of heart and they said it wasnt possible as the car was already starting to be built. They said once it arrived the only option was an aftermarket option they used and could fit for £300 i think it was but it would have been rear bumpers only. In the end i never bothered and to be honest i've been fine without them.

All this said i suspect there is someone somewhere who is more technically minded that me that could mess about with the dash, wiring etc and get them fitted.

They're a strange bunch these car manufacturers. We all know these things are possible when you look at what some of the tech savvy members have been doing adding new drivers screens etc so why a manufacturer would close the door to potential after sales once the initial build is complete confuses me.

Yeh it did seem strange. My only thought at the time was that flogging me the aftermarket ones was more profitable to them in some way. I'm also fairly sure that the order could have been amended to have them fitted as standard as it was only a couple of weeks after we'd ordered and they couldnt even give me a delivery date at the time.

You should have told them you're cancelling the order. I bet a couple of phonecalls later they'd have miraculously found they can include them in the build

Agreed sensors work really well in every possible situation so far. Would say easier than a camera to be honest.
