Hey guys!
Just bought my first Insignia 2 days ago - it's a 2.0 CDTi Hatch with 210K km. on the dash. It's a Cosmo edition and so far I love it, except the non-sporty seats. Here it is:
I'm pretty sure my questions are not for here, but until I get used to the forum structure, I prefer not to post spam threads.
The car has couple of issues and for some I'm not sure if they are normal.
It's an Auto one and it's my second experience with auto gearbox, so I'm not sure if the behavior of the gearbox is OK. What I mean is the following:
- When R or D is engaged, it's not a "bang" what's happening but rather I can feel that the gear is engaging and the car tries to move forward/backward respectively.
- When R is selected - I feel the engaging right away, but when D is selected - it's engaging in a second or so. Is this normal?
- When I first drove the car, when slowing down a couple of times the box "kicked" from 3-2 and 2-1, which is not happening now. I'm not sure if it was a box issue or just me getting used to the break (still doing it).
The car pulls left - when I let go of the steering wheel it starts pulling left right away. It has 245/45/18 tyres and while they are really wide, I drove on 18's my old car with 225 in the front and did not had such issues. The previous owner states that the suspension is flawless.
I wonder what it could be? Also, when I shake the steering wheel when the car is parked, I can hear a "clicking" sound from the front of the car. Not sure if it's related.
When the car is not moving (i.e. waiting for a traffic light), I noticed that the RPM needle is moving up and down with like ~50 RPM while I cannot notice any change in the engine sound etc. Is this normal?
Last but not least - how accurate is the board computer in regards to the fuel consumption? I read all over the internet that the car should consume about 8-9 to 10 liters of diesel in urban driving. So far I'm getting on the OBC 11.5-12 which seems like a LOT to me? Moreover, the car has been remapped with what they call it here "original" Opel chip tuning - to about 190 HP / 430 NM. Most of the people tell that it should not increase but rather decrease the consumption.
Any input will be highly appreciated, guys.
Cheers!
