  • Fuel filter

I Just thought I’d share the state of my fuel filter after removing it during a service today,I’m guessing someone didn’t click it into the filter housing properly during the last service and it just got squashed when tightened back up?

I know I got told it had just had a full service all filters and oils before I bought it.I doubt that, the pollen filter was black and twice as heavy as the new one there was all sorts in it

Yeah the diesel looks black cause I’ve used that tub for oil before but that was the colour of the filter it had no oil on it

Lets hope you see some improvement now----if its been changed in the past then they must of used the cheapest they could get their hands on---its probably worth doing every couple of years------Dave

How often are you suppose to change them?

Changed mine 10k ago and looking to change it again either next month or June latest.

After changing it I felt the engine had a hard time starting from stop start. This subsidied after a few days.

My other half has a Corsa D 1.3 CDTI and that was on 60k before it was changed. Though this uses a metal one and not a paper one like ours.

Do you feel 10k is just right or leave it longer like the Corsa?

Do you switch the ignition on and off a few time to fill the filter and get the air out the system?

Yeah 10 times ha. It doesn't matter anyway. Car stop starts every blue moon even with a new battery.
