turned it off radio back on

Had to go to FM , ive noticed the siggy DAB reception is not the best at all, i drive a ford transit connect every day , and never have loss of signal

Never had a problem with DAB on either my old elite or my new GS apart from a few areas out in the sticks of the Peak District near us.

The fact it goes on and off with the heated window suggests a fault somewhere with the heater element interfering. Had a similar issue on an old escort my parents had years ago where it killed the radio reception. Can’t remember what it was though.

        I'm exactly the same.
Been all over the ship, but the only place it switched to FM from DAB was on the A66 around the Brough area.

Generally there is a spot near Chatsworth House just up the road from us, a bit where i drop into a dip on the A38 near Derby on my way to and from work and then another spot on the road between Scarborough and Whitby just past the turning for Robin Hoods Bay where again you drop into a dip and it goes but soon comes back. I think they are just general dead spots.

I do think it was probably a bit better on the old one than the new one but its still fine for me in reality and the switching to FM covers it on a lot of stations although since the shake up on Radio 2 i pretty much only listen to Radio X now or Radio 5/5SX for sport. If either of those are crap then Apple Music via Carplay it is.

I've not had your experience exactly, but my DAB signal seems to drop out when I use my rear wiper.

My 13 plate SE had lousy DAB reception, I think because the aerial was on the rear screen. Before I retired I would drive to work on the A635 by Dovestone Reservoir and would lose all DAB reception. On my new GS reception is far better (sharks fin?)

You manage to get DAB signal near Chatsworth? I live in Cromford and I can't get any DAB signal around Matlock etc. not for the radio station that I listen to anyway.

I'm ok with the main BBC stations down near Chatsworth but Radio X tends to struggle. One of my routes to work involves coming from Chesterfield past Ashover to the top of Slack Hill and then across past Lickpenny Lane caravan park and down through Wessington to Alfreton and to Derby on the A38...on that journey I have no issues anywhere with Radio X apart from that bit i mentioned on the A38 or if i go via Oakerthorpe and its poor at the traffic lights at the far end. Matlock is down in that valley as such isnt it so i can understand DAB not being great down there, again BBC stations tend to be fine and to be honest i've not tried Radio X down there for a while.

Yes its a bit of a black hole area, I only listen to radio X. I just can't seem to get great signal with it though, maybe I need to play about with some settings. I only got the car last week so pretty new to it all, a lot of the time it comes up with DAB to DAB linking

Just the geography around there is not going to help to be honest, Matlock and Cromford are basically in the bottom of a valley plus i dont think Radio X is the strongest signal when you see that BBC stations work fine in the same area in the main. I'm at the top of the hill above Matlock when i'm going to work and its fine so shows how it can be affected.

Not sure what settings in the car will help with Radio X to be honest as there is only really the DAB to FM linking for stations that can do it and Radio X isnt available on FM outside of London and Manchester i dont think. The only thing to be careful of is having a crap cheap 12v power source plugged in to the lighter socket. That can play havoc with radio reception.
