Bit of a follow on from my introduction post I have brought myself a 65 plate Insignia 1.6 nav EST very cheap I think at 3200
122000 on the clock all motorway miles very few stone chips and inside like new anyway I got it cheap as 5th and 6th year whines and gearbox chatters until the clutch is pressed thought about taking it to one of the garages who change the bearings with gearbox in situ but after some research on the net that doesn't always fix the problem so I am going for a total rebuild bearings shim etc garage is taking the box out totally renewing every bearing and seals and gaskets and fresh oil also fitting new clutch kit and DMF I am supplying all for £545 + vat
Don't think I could have got it cheaper other than doing it myself but I'm to old for crawling about under cars.
