  • Rear Coil springs

Was out with the car and in our area we have raised pedestrian crossings---[something the council seems to have plenty of money for] and was driving over the one near home--was going slow over and heard a right old crack---looked under the car and could see one broken coil spring---ordered up a new set[2] and have fitted them today---pleased I done it as both were broken--the one I thought was ok had been broken for a long time---not too bad a job and only took me about 1- 1/2 hours---took my time with me being an old fart----DaveClick image for larger version

Hello Dave--not a bad job to do---think the hardest part was getting the bolt back in---managed ok-best way is to enter the bolt when lined up and then just keep lifting the lower arm with the jack until the exit for the bolt lined up--had to take one off again as I wasn't happy with the way the spring was sitting and I put the new ones back in as they came out--the old springs may have been off before-----all done anyway------Dave
