z19dth block with A20dth Head

z19dth block with A20dth Head. I have been told its possible has anyone actually done it.
I have been told you need to take the crank out and change the pickup on the crank shaft.
The head goes on without a problem.

I am wondering has anyone actually done it

or can you just put the whole engine in ???

Hello Jay coming from a long line of saabs the Z19DTR block is suited for the A20DTH head .
It's a load of faffing around and in the end by the time you have faffed that much , you will prolly want to do a John Cleese on the damm car !
Better off fitting a recon A20DTH unit complete .
Cos you know it fits and it will work .
