This is the high tech kind of fix you need!
I also get a fair whack of rattle from my driver's door. I've narrowed it down to the door pin rattling when the doors are locked.
Might try putting a fine layer of something around the pin.

Anybody any further with this?
I've got a terribly annoying rattle coming from my drivers side air vent/the plastic trim on the door around the handle (can't quite pin point it). I tried to remove the vent surround and the plastic trim below the vent surround but it was not for budging and felt like I was going to break it. Driving me mad!Comment
