  • Auto hand brake.

    Hi all.

Currently have a 2014 elite. Is there a auto hold option or a way for the hand brake to activate when stopped?

    Thank you

Hello Jon all insignia with electronic handbrake have HSA ( hill start assist )
But you must be on a bit of an incline i.e. If your on an incline trying to pull, out of a junction , just apply the foot brake then take your foot off and it holds the car .
Another way is same situation , but you have hand brake on and all of a sudden you want to move off just press the accelerator pedal bring cluch pedal up and hand brake automatically disengages .
There's no option as far as I know fir the handbrake to auto engage
    Hope that helps .
    Hope it helps

Has to be a decent incline thou. No good for slight inclines when in traffic. Yet this system on the Astra works so much better.

Hoooo yes as Matt says a good bit of an incline .if less then the handbrake option is good.
How long have you had the car ?
I know when I first got mine I thought I was not going to like the electronic handbrake.but after a few days I found it so useful.
