Cool, neither would I have DPF issues! More power and correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t they 4x4 too?

I would also avoid the 4x4, the Haldex system is hit and miss for reliability and potentially very costly. It's shares majority of it's engine with the Saab 9-5 Aero and Astra J VXR(Slightly upgraded) albeit about 200kg heavier so it's quite quick, especially if you're thinking of a remap. Standard is 220Hp but can be up to 285bhp just with a remap but I think the best thing is the torque figures given diesels are much more torquey than petrols, the 2.0t is only 36ft-lb shy of a biturbo. There doesn't seem to be too many around, so you will need to be careful because it's likely to have been driven hard. As for fuel consumption, I would say it depends how you drive. Definitely nowhere near as economical as a diesel. I've actually been driving extra 'sensibly' over the last month or so and got about 35mpg mixed driving, so not too bad considering Insignias are quite heavy cars but it easily shifts that weight around. Let's just say I've shamed/surprised a few 'premium' brands up to the speed limit(I hate tailgaters)
I think that has made my mind up [emoji23] the remap figures are quite impressive [emoji57] I can do sensible [emoji6] (when the wife and kids are in the car).. I prefer the saloon version myself tbh I think I will start searching for one...

One thing she does agree though, is the ease of overtaking especially if the other car starts accelerating(another thing I never understand!). It always feels like a risky event in the Vectra but much safer doing it in the Insignia, if that makes sense

Agreed saloons are few and far between...
But I like them more and I would be willing to wait for the right one...
I definitely do like the thought of the extra power I think it will be surprising compared with the diesel version,
