Things you’ll need
• Ratchet, Small extension Bar, T30 Socket, Deep 16/17mm socket (can’t remember which)
If you’re replacing the Coil Pack & Spark plugs you’ll need these also. Generally most people go with Standard GM Spark Plugs, but I’ve always chose to change the standard plugs for “Iridium NGK” ones, it’s a personal choice nothing more.
1 – Remove the engine cover, this simply just lifts off with a swift pull & you’ll see this….
2 – Unclip the coil pack from the right side (circled YELLOW)
3 – Take the T30 torx socket and remove the 2 torx bolts in the middle of the coil pack (circled WHITE), the coil pack is now ready to be pulled up out of the middle of the engine. Note it might be tight because of the suction force between the Coil Pack & the Spark Plugs.
4 – Once the coil pack is out of the way you’ll see the 4 spark plugs, simply put the Ratchet, extension bar & the 16/17mm socket together and remove the spark plugs.
5 – Replace the spark plugs with the plugs of your choice but be careful not to over tighten, do this with all 4, then simply replace the coil pack be sure to push it on nice and tight and replace the 2 T30 Torx bolts & plug back in on the right side.
6 – Replace the engine cover… Job done
