  • Particle filter

Had a problem a week ago, towing the caravan down to Devon. On the M3, temperature guage suddenly goes through the red and the engine starts making a dreadful noise as if it was full of nuts and bolts. Pulled off the M3 and called the RAC. He came and plugged in his laptop and diagnosed a blocked particle filter. The laptop then automatically ran a "re-generation" programme, revving the engine for about 15 mins and it was all clear and we were able to carry on. I really thought the engine had had it but it was all Ok and we were able to carry on.
    Has anyone else experienced this?

True but not limited to either. The problem is as likely a design flaw, or a programming weakness. Both of which have been acknowledged and addressed by VX. My BiTurbo has being the subject of both.
